Happy yarns

I want to tell you about two great shop concepts that I found in NY. Purl Soho and Wool and the gang. Both shops are places where you can buy yarns. But not just ordinary yarns! Maybe you have heard of Purl Soho before because they have a beautiful well known blog named the Purl Bee. They strive to create fun and approachable projects for you to knit, crochet, sew, stitch and more. And you can find everything what you need in their shops ( online as well).

My other great treasure was Wool and the Gang! Such a nice idea to make knitting easy, fun and hip. It has never been so simple to knit the most fashionable accessories and clothes. On their clear and helpful site you can find kits, wool and great free patterns! You will receive the ingredients in a nice white paperbag.

Moschino in the clouds

I fall in love on a shopwindow in Meatpacking District. Moschino made me so happy by making this beautiful and creative piece of art. In their giant window they installed mannequins with cloudheads. I think it's truly wonderful! The white, black and bright blue combination is perfect. I would love to have one of those pretty cloudheads for in my house. So dreamy and smiling...

If you want to see more windows of Moschino ( they have made more fantasy windows before) take a look on their website! Have nice dreams :-)

Sjoe Sjoe in New York

New York was great! I am totally inspired and full of energy. New York in Autumn is really beautiful. The loft buildings, pumkins, green, red and yellow leaves, banana pancakes, a crispy blue sky, the wind in my hair and this all combined with a nice cup of earl grey tea in one of the million cupcake stores make me so happy! In the next few weeks I will post about cute new brands, food, markets and more.

I had the most wonderful and surprising YUMMY pancakes ever!! The combination was so lovely! Soft 'n crispy American pancakes with pieces of fresh banana in it + maple syrup + some creamy butter... and now the BIG secret for a the most wonderful pancake on earth + little pieces of baked pancetta + pistache nuts. LOVED IT!

Je t'aime la Dordogne!

A very good friend invited us to come over to a gorgeous house in the middle of Dordogne in France. Autumn in France is unbelievable pretty! Yellow and green colours in the trees, a warm and cosy house, some grapes and walnuts, fresh juices and apple pies, lovely baked croissants, some warm sunshine, beautiful castles in hilly landscapes and a bunch of friendly fun people. Thank you sweet LiLo, it was a great weekend!!

Moda Fabrics

Do you think it is hard to find cute and beautiful fabrics? Me too! I visited a big fabric market last weekend and I was a little bit disappointed. Until somebody me told me about a very nice shop named Carol Cox in Utrecht. This shop is specialized in quilting, I am not a quilter at all, but the quilters do know everything about the most perfect and lovely fabrics! One fabric brand stole my heart: Moda fabrics. Have a look, you wont be disappointed. Dots, flowers, roses, minimal patterns, so absolutely great! Find a store in your neighbourhood and have fun with the fabrics... I can't wait to start!

You and me

I love the hand drawn map of the world with the little pins of You and me, The Royal We! 'Each print comes with 202 pins to chart your path to total global domination. 200 of the pins are black, one of them is red and one them is blue. Red is for headquarters, blue is for next target.' Also nice are the " all occasion cards"! 'You and Me, The Royal We is a product line conceived of and created by 3 studio mates in Brooklyn, New York. Offering goods that vary greatly in function yet share a common sense of humor, and dedicated to small runs and high quality.' You canbuy these products and more on the You and Me website.

Carl Kleiner

IKEA released a new baking book called “Hembakat är Bäst” (Homemade is Best). Carl Kleiner was asked to shoot the recipes. I think it is so pretty!

Like these vegetable pictures of Carl Kleiner as well. Very funny to make little persons of ordinary vegetables. Meet Mr Shy, Dr Corn, Mr Gurka and Tony... a nice idea to do with a couple of children.

And if you have got some coloured paper at home? Grap a scissor and fancy yourself some nice little pieces of art.... like Carl did. Everything you see is made of paper.
