Little Veggie Patch

During my holiday I noticed how many people still have a vegetable garden. I was so impressed about it. Everybody in the world seems to understand how to grow food in your own garden... I think we forgot a little how to use our garden as a food source. The Little Veggie Patch Company is a Melbourne based business that specialises in the design, installation and maintenance of vegetable gardens. Pleeeease come to the Netherlands as well! And make our gardens grow colourful veggies again just like the veggs on your cute little seed packaging!

Frankie magazine

Have you heard about Frankie Magazine before? Frankie is a bi-monthly magazine based in Australia.  One of my favourite magazines at the moment! Full of creativity, beautiful pictures and lovely ideas. Today I had some time to read there latest issue. Found a lot of good inspiration.

Not only the bright summer sun made me smile today, these sweet buttons of Andie's Specialty Sweets as well. Happy feeling was sponsored by Frankie.

New look!

A brand new look for Sjoesjoe. Why? Because my logo really needed a make over... but most of all because I am very busy with setting up my own design & concept studio: Studio Sjoesjoe! Starting the 1st of November, ohhhh I am so excited. After 7 fantastic and wonderful years at HEMA it's now time to spread my wings and to move on with my creativity. Will tell you soon more about my plans with Sjoesjoe! For now I hope you like it :-) x

Sunday treasure: Vintage stamps

De Pure Markt is one of my favourite markets in Amsterdam. A lovely happening once a month in Park Frankendael. This event is taking place each last Sunday of the month. Many great food stalls offer an amazing variety of tasty products, a lot of organic food, musthave things and second hand stuff. I found these wonderful vintage school stamps. Can't wait to use them on a envelope or in a print.

Vintage supermarket

Tesco's Supermarket popped up at Goodwood Revival. Tesco has recreated a Sixties-style branch for this weekend's Goodwood Revival historic motor race meeting. Customers were able to walk up and down three aisles and browse shelves containing dozens of products from the era. Would love to visit the store. Sjoesjoe likes vintage packaging A LOT!

MT masking tape

I am sure you have heard about MT masking tape, one of those great Japane products! Every card, present, wall or letter turns into something pretty. You can find the tape in many different colours and prints, use them single or together and there you are, a litlle DIY moment. I love to surf for tape ideas on the web, for example on Pinterest or the MT website.

Golden donut

As usual I just missed the ferry. I never mind to wait for the next boat because in that part of Amsterdam a very strong wind blows through your hair and above all you always see something nice. Like yesterday. What a wonderful golden balloon! A golden donut, shiny in the sun. This kid must have been very proud.

Suhka Amsterdam

March, a few days before we left Amsterdam for 6 months, I was so trilled by seeing new shop Suhka just around the corner of my house! I feel so lucky to live nearby these great shops. They inspire me every day when I walk by. Suhka is a beautiful store where new meets old. Where everything is made with love and attention. And where you can read the most lovely poems.

I bought a few of these lovely notebooks during my trip. Just to write down some things and to fancy my bag a bit :-). Korean-based O-Check is the creator of this thoughtful and ever-changing collection of stationery that weaves unique charm into its’ highly original designs. Their products are from recycled paper, natural fabrics, wood and soy ink. You can find a lot of O-check on NoteMaker!

They create nice stamps as well!

Extra Curricular

In the next few weeks I will show you what I found in New Zealand. Let's start with Extra Cullicular. Extra Curricular is put together in Auckland by Ellie Smith & friends. It is for and about people doing exciting side projects in their spare time. Extra Curricular is published tri-annually. I was very inspired by this little lovely looking magazine. Great to read about creative people!
