Confetti system, very very very cool!

Confetti System is Nicholas Andersen and Julie Ho, a duo working as artists and designers. A friendship born from their shared love of communal celebration and craft-making has brought them together to create a new system. Confetti System transforms simple materials such as tissue paper, card board, and silk into interactive objects. It all looks so amazingly creative and very very very cool!

Photobooth, a must do for 2012

If you have plans for a nice party in the upcoming year ( and if not please do, you can't have enough parties) you have to create yourself a photo booth this time. The real thing in party land. Smiling with you friends together with some handmade props in front of a photo is spreading around the world. I like parties and I like to do funny creative things... mix these 2 in own big bowl and you'll get photobooth as a result. Maybe these great photo's inspire you to go for it too.

Spring colour key

A bit of colour today! I really like the colours of these candle holders designed by Ferm Living. Great colour key for prints or a perfect outfit for a spring afternoon.

On a couch with a sketchbook and a black pencil

Last week I decided to start a lovely new Sjoesjoe project. My only rules are: * I have to sit on my very comfortable couch * accompanied with my sketchbook * a black pencil * some nice drinks & bites and * a theme. It already worked out pretty well don't you think? :)

Localilo in Tokyo

Today Localilo is taking you to Tokyo!! Tokyo is an amazing, innovative, inspiring, different, sweet, busy and beautiful city where you can find old traditions mixed up with modernity! Lucky enough I've been there a few times for my work and private. And can't wait to go again. Perhaps you've made some good plans this year? Here you go, some spots you have to go to.

* park: Yoyogi park is one of the largest parks in Tokyo, nearby Harajuku station. A beautiful park that turns into great colours every season again. We visited this park in spring and were treated by lovely pink clouds... and some rock & roll of course. Every weekend you can twist and shout with the Rockabillies. Japanese boys and girls dressed up in 50's style and dancing like if it's their last one.

* shop: Tokyu hands; the Creative store. You might think by it's first looks it's a very boring shop where you never will find something good. But... in the meantime this is a THE über japanese shop where you'll have to walk true every aisle and level. Here you can find the most amazing things and products you never have seen before! Cute stickers, baking fun stuff, wrapping paper, stationary, funny toys, travel goodies, gifts etc... a lot of fun guaranteed!

* neigbourhood: Shimokitazawa, with it's cute little streets and village feeling a little treasure in this big city, is my favourite spot in town! Here you can find numerous adorable cafes, unique fashion shops, second hand stores ( for that beautiful kimono you always wanted), lifestyle & homeware. You never want to leave again. Very popular among the hip and young people in Tokyo.

* sleep: I really can recommend Andon Ryokan in Minowa. Created for the design-minded, independent traveler on a budget. A beautiful modern design ryokan with a touch of the beautiful Japanese traditions. The rooms are very clean and simple and a perfect tasteful homemade breakfast is served every day. The english speaking local staff is very helpful and friendly, and they know the exact right places, shops and hip bars too!

Depeapa gives her drawings a second life

When I see little drawings, silk screen prints, handmade accessories like Depeapa creates I really get a ' hungry' feeling of making this myself too. It looks like so much fun to make nice drawings, followed up by giving these drawings a second life on homey things. Depeapa sells her little goodies on Etsy. Some day, maybe soon, I am going to start this myself. And you?

Tomorrow a Localilo post about Tokyo!

Fashion drawings

Sandra Suy was one of my first purchases on Etsy. She loves drawing people, especially beautiful women with beautiful dresses ( I like). She combines her talent with her passion and became a fashion illustrator. I am a big fan of her work and happy with two beautiful fashion drawings hanging on my wall.
