Confetti system, very very very cool!

Confetti System is Nicholas Andersen and Julie Ho, a duo working as artists and designers. A friendship born from their shared love of communal celebration and craft-making has brought them together to create a new system. Confetti System transforms simple materials such as tissue paper, card board, and silk into interactive objects. It all looks so amazingly creative and very very very cool!

On a couch with a sketchbook and a black pencil

Last week I decided to start a lovely new Sjoesjoe project. My only rules are: * I have to sit on my very comfortable couch * accompanied with my sketchbook * a black pencil * some nice drinks & bites and * a theme. It already worked out pretty well don't you think? :)

Localilo in Tokyo

Today Localilo is taking you to Tokyo!! Tokyo is an amazing, innovative, inspiring, different, sweet, busy and beautiful city where you can find old traditions mixed up with modernity! Lucky enough I've been there a few times for my work and private. And can't wait to go again. Perhaps you've made some good plans this year? Here you go, some spots you have to go to.

* park: Yoyogi park is one of the largest parks in Tokyo, nearby Harajuku station. A beautiful park that turns into great colours every season again. We visited this park in spring and were treated by lovely pink clouds... and some rock & roll of course. Every weekend you can twist and shout with the Rockabillies. Japanese boys and girls dressed up in 50's style and dancing like if it's their last one.

* shop: Tokyu hands; the Creative store. You might think by it's first looks it's a very boring shop where you never will find something good. But... in the meantime this is a THE ├╝ber japanese shop where you'll have to walk true every aisle and level. Here you can find the most amazing things and products you never have seen before! Cute stickers, baking fun stuff, wrapping paper, stationary, funny toys, travel goodies, gifts etc... a lot of fun guaranteed!

* neigbourhood: Shimokitazawa, with it's cute little streets and village feeling a little treasure in this big city, is my favourite spot in town! Here you can find numerous adorable cafes, unique fashion shops, second hand stores ( for that beautiful kimono you always wanted), lifestyle & homeware. You never want to leave again. Very popular among the hip and young people in Tokyo.

* sleep: I really can recommend Andon Ryokan in Minowa. Created for the design-minded, independent traveler on a budget. A beautiful modern design ryokan with a touch of the beautiful Japanese traditions. The rooms are very clean and simple and a perfect tasteful homemade breakfast is served every day. The english speaking local staff is very helpful and friendly, and they know the exact right places, shops and hip bars too!

Fashion drawings

Sandra Suy was one of my first purchases on Etsy. She loves drawing people, especially beautiful women with beautiful dresses ( I like). She combines her talent with her passion and became a fashion illustrator. I am a big fan of her work and happy with two beautiful fashion drawings hanging on my wall.

Some New Year intentions by Stylecookie

A New Year usually starts with a whole list of good intentions. Found these yammie visuals on Bloesem. They are created by Maria Stijger ( photography) and Wenda Torenbosch ( styling) for their online shop Stylecookie. Their message: don't take it all to seriously. Start with some small changes, because that already can give you a good impact on your daily life: live a healthy life, take the bike more often, do your administration, dream big, watch less TV... I totally agree.

Rie Elise Larsen perfect paper products

Rie Elise Larsen is still going strong. I saw these lovely boxes & paper in de Vlieger ( which is a great store where you can stroll around for hours). The prints are perfect and the colours together with the patterns make you so greedy. Perfect for wrapping up a present, decorate a dollhouse or to make paper decoration. On her blog you'll find a few video's demonstrating some great creative ideas.

Shoegazing

On the Uppercase website I read about one of their latest projects: Shoegazing. Uppercase invited readers to submit photo's of themselves " shoegazing" on Flickr. The classic shot of looking down at ones' feet and taking a photo. Chronicle books turned this concept in a set of notecards. It is true, I also like to make photos of my feet standing in blossoms in Japan, looking dirty in a green field in Mongolia, standing on a street somewhere in Bueanos Aires... Perhaps to record that wonderful moment of being there.

PS Today I am working on a creative project for 101 Woonidee├źn which you will find in the April issue! My blog was asked to join, I feel so honoured!! :)

BHLDN ooh lala!

I am going to give a lovely tip for all the ladies who still have that dream to get married once in their lives. You don't need to go to the small wedding boutiques (those with a bunch of classical white dresses) anymore. Last year a new wedding brand BHLDN ( from the folks behind Anthropologie) was launched. The collection of wedding fashion & goodies is full of amazing details, texture and handcrafted perfection. On their inspirational website you can create your own moodboards. Even if you don't have wedding plans, it's fun to do!
