Hello hello! In the upcoming 2 weeks I won't be able to post on my blog... every now and then you should do a little digital detox. Looking forward to be outside and enjoy nature in all it's diversity! I will be back soon with lovely new inspiring fresh posts of course, but first I have to catch up with some good old friends; Mr. Elephant, Miss Zebra, King Lion and Mrs. Hippo herself. It's going to be a wild and funky party J! In the mean while, can you please enjoy the October with it's beautiful autumn colours for me! Thanks.

Even though it's autumn, and I really love the autumn, I'm still into drawing butterflies! Ok, autumn butterflies ;) What do you think of this little fashionable creature? Have a great weekend!

Always a lovely surprise when my fresh new Frankie magazine is waiting for me on the door mat! This time a special one! To celebrate its 50th Issue, Australian magazine Frankie created an adorable embroidered cover of what has been the focus of the magazine throughout the years (i.e. fashion, photography, travel, craft, home, etc.). It's embossed but in an embroidery way, BE-AU-TI-FUL!

Last weekend the Centraal Museum in Utrecht launched an interesting new exhibition: 'This is the Central Museum'. The classics of the museum collection come together in 8 different spaces. Think Gerrit Rietveld, Dick Bruna, Viktor & Rolf. Studio Sjoesjoe created graphic illustrations on the floors of each space. A visual summary of the different highlights at the exhibition. Quite cool huh, my drawings in front of big artists! :) JEEEEJ!!!

And therefor I'm really looking forward to an upcoming film: Advanced style! Ari Seth Cohen & Lina Pliolplyte have been filming and interviewing the amazing ladies of Advanced Style for over three years now. Pretty, beautiful, colourful and original ladies. The Advanced Style Documentary will be entered into the 2013 film festival circuit and hopefully out in theaters soon after! J

Chanel is a women who I admire a LOT! Very inspiring how she created her own style and brand. So I was very pleased with this new campaign! Chanel has launched its Inside CHANEL archive. For the first time, CHANEL tells its story online at Chapter 1: the legend of N°5. Journey back in time through the CHANEL archives into the heart of this magical perfume, beginning with the revolutionary moment of its creation. Please start your day with this beautiful story accompanied with lovely visuals.

Today perhaps an unexpected post of Sjoesjoe! I'm not really a person who is sitting in front of the TV every night. But now I really feel the urge to tell you about my new discovered cherry on the cake...The Great British Bake Off! A beautifully made, brilliant and mouth watering program on the BBC. I have so much more respect for all those French patisseries! Macarons, buns, pies, petite fours, it's a sweet parade coming by in you living room! Next tuesday the finals. Mmm!
I admit, I'm one of those weird people who actually buy a book just because they like the cover. And I find it really hard to read a proven, good writer etc. etc. -book with an ugly print on the front. And this counts for wine as well! A beautiful wine etiquette can make me decide to buy it or not. I guess it's all about having fun before something starts. To me that's 50% of all the joy. Look at these pretty vintage book covers, you immediately want to start reading it right? :)

On this monday morning some flowery ideas for your walls! Aren't you a really really really lucky person when you find a house with those beautiful 'fresco' kind of flower paintings? Thank god there are pretty wallpapers now a days so we can just do as if we live in Italy :)!

Rain, rain, rain: autumn is really in my veins! I feel like staying inside, drinking my favourite autumn tea and read a good book or watch a nice movie. This cosy fabric fort would be perfect for this kind of activities! Isn't it beautiful? Love this idea of Design Sponge! On their site you can find a DIY tutorial about how to build it yourself. Have fun this weekend! :)

In the last few years I have searched for hours and hours on the web to find new free fonts. There are so many fonts websites that it makes me a little crazy some times. So I thought you might want to see some of my favourites. Saves you a little time too. Imagine what you can do with all that saved time: bake a lovely cake, make jam, watch a Wess Anderson movie, have a nice autumn walk... great!

During my studies at the art academy in Maastricht I discovered a passion for textile and cultural traditions. Embroideries, sequins, flower patterns, I really can't stop looking to all the little details on traditional costumes! ( We all look so boring comparing to these beauties!) So I was very pleased to find a new blog: Folk Clothing. This blog shows us the most beautiful costumes and traditions from all over the world, wow!
Like this too? Then you should have a look to this little movie!
I always find it very interesting how trends develop. Suddenly I can't stop seeing a certain trend, it just pops up everywhere and not only in the Netherlands, all around the world. So magical!! At this moment there is something going on with gradation or the so called ombre effect! Faded colours / gradation of colours, in photography, art, products, food... like!

Last friday I decided to go to the Woonbeurs 2012 and I'm very happy I did! Sjoesjoe spotted some nice new brands, trends and colour keys. The furnished house of 101 Woonideeën and VT Wonen were my favourite spots ( and the area with the little new designers too)! You might like to see some of my snapshots! :)
